Use any five pairs. Write two sentences per pair, showing correct meaning and usage.

Rules
  • Total pairs shown: 8; attempt exactly 5.
  • Each selected pair carries 2 marks (5 × 2 = 10).
  • Write two sentences: one for each word in the pair.
What Examiners Want
  • Correct meaning + correct grammar in both sentences.
  • Clear distinction between similar words.
  • Natural usage (collocation), not dictionary-like lines.
Common Mistakes
  • Same meaning used for both words; no distinction.
  • Wrong part of speech or incorrect collocation.
  • Two identical template sentences with only word swapped.
